Meeting Called to Order: Call to order at 7:01pm.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes of the meeting October 18, 2006 were accepted as written.
Treasurer and Web Master Report: Larry Klose went
through the financial report reviewed the new
Financial page on Region web site. This page
provide officers and treasurers with immediate access to all the financial
regirements, forms and reports for
the Region. A paper copy of the Interim
Financial Report was submitted to the Secretary. -
copy on file. For passwords to access financial reports on line,
please e-mail Larry.
Advisor Reports
OEC - Karen Hadden: Two new instructors in Section IIWM2.
SEM on January 27. We have guests coming to participate in the Western
Michigan Region event. Section IIIWM3,
Crystal Mtn. Mountain
is doing the first on-line OEC distance learning class. It is dependent on
motivated students and committed mentors in order to work. Senior electives
are also being logged with an effort to be up to date on what electives are
completed and when the Senior requirement is fulfilled.
Avalanche and MTR - Michael Walenta: March 3 and 4

Ski/Snowboard Trainers Workshop: Shawn Rhoda and : Gregg
Hoppe.:
Region Alpine Trainers Workshop and Alpine Instructor Calibration Clinic: Both were cancelled due to lack of snow. Please encourage patrollers to maintain current e-mail with National in order to use this for short notice information. May not be able to hold the Senior Hill Test at Crystal Mountain due to lack of snow.
Awards - Kathy Young: All awards will be forwarded to Region and on nominee sent on to Division. Awards are due to Section by January 24.
Elections - Erica Krol: Two candidates are running
for WM2II

Division Meeting - David Menke: Next meeting Tuesday, January 16. Working out the Friday evening plan. Karen Hadden has speakers scheduled for Saturday. Please promote with patrols. Volunteers needed.

Section I WM3 - Tom
Fisher: Concerns expressed about Crystal Mountain and Caberfae combined
efforts as Section I.
Section II WM2 -
Patrick Mulvihill: Section II hill test is coming up but may not be able
to be held due to weather and training difficulties.
Section III WM1 - Ken
Young: Section II WM1 and III WM2
have been working together to help Section III WM1
ski swap.
Patrol Reports
Timber Ridge - Sue Brann: Timber Ridge will be
hosting SEM. February 11 Basic Hill test is scheduled. FebFebruary

Emergency Medical Residents from Bronson/Borgess will be holding a conference
using the training room in the patrol facility.
Bittersweet - Dan Navis: Planning to be open soon.
Pando - David Menke: Pando is open today.
Cannonsburg - Patrick Mulvihill: Cannonsburg opened last night and will be opening more of the area as weather permits.
Crystal Mountain - Brian Klebba: After a great start and then the melt Crystal has 6 inches of new snow and they are making snow. They have stayed open since Dec 8. They hosted the Governor at New Years.
WM Nordic - Michael Walenta: Nordic; three candidates. They are hoping race events will be held.
New Business
E-mail version of Blue and Gold Banner will be beginning. Scott Waddell expressed concern about people without e-mail receiving a printed copy.
