Region Officers Present: Region Director, Tony Wolfer; Secretary, Colleen Wolfer; Assistant Region Director, Gregg Hoppe; Treasurer, Larry Klose.
Region Advisors Present: Instructor Development, Pat Livingston; OEC Advisor, Karen Hadden; Alpine NSPC Ski School, Chip Knappen; Alpine Toboggan, Shawn Rhoda; Alpine Proficiency, Britt Gustafson; Snowboard, Bob Mayberry.
Section Officers Present: WM2 Section Chief Elect, Jack Katerburg; WM2 Section, Patrick Mulvihill; WM3 Section, Tom Fisher.
Patrol Representatives Present: Caberfae Peaks, Deann Jenkins; Crystal Mountain, Brian Klebba; Pando, David Menke.
Division Officers Present: Registration and Public Relations, Sherwin Van Klompenberg.
Guest Present: Dave Corey; Danni Doolittle; Dayle Hadden; John Jenkins.
Meeting called to order at 2:20 pm.
Minutes from the meeting March 2007 were accepted.
The calendar for the 2007-8 season was set.
Refresher notes: Crystal Mountain can take less than 10 additional patrollers at the refresher. Those wishing to attend the Caberfae refresher should contact Deann Jenkins.
Alpine Proficiency: Gregg Hoppe - The development of new toboggan instructors is the focus this year as some areas don’t have trainers. Patrols and Section Chiefs will co-ordinate. TES programs will be less for the patroller and more for instructor development. The instructor development course will be required. SESs have not been scheduled. Kevin Fultz will be stepping down due to job requirements. Chip Knappen will be taking this position. Gregg wishes Tony to bring back to Division that the current push for regions to conduct more clinics is difficult due to cost/personnel/available dates.
Elections: WMIII Section Chief and Region Director will be voted on this year.
Tony Wolfer announced that Kathy Young is looking for someone to mentor for this next year. Patrick Mulvihill was suggested. He is considering it.
Division Meeting: David Menke – Currently $25 registration; $28 Air Zoo/dinner; $35 for Sat night Award Banquet. Volunteers are needed to help the weekend run smoothly. 10 people from each section are requested. The logo is being finalized. Room rate looks like $109-19 per night. The committee also needs someone to coordinate donations.
Treasurers Report: Larry Klose has the report posted on the web site and the copy passed at the meeting is on file.
Caberfae Patrol Representative Deann Jenkins announced that Caberfae was being written up in the national magazine.
