Meeting Minutes
May 2, 2009
Bittersweet Ski Area, Otsego, MI

Present:  Larry Klose, Tim Kirch, Tony Wolfer, Dani Doolittle, Mike Stormzand, Mike Patterson, Mike Fick, Jack Katerburg, Stu Furrow, Dan Navis, Patrick Mulvihill, Sue Brann, Doug Mesara, Ken Young, Brit Gustafson, Chip Knappen, Dave Corey, Dan Goldberger, Colleen Wolfer, Karen Hadden, Gregg Hoppe, Dennis O’Brien, Tom Mulvihill.

Call to Order:  Meeting called to order by Region Director, Tony Wolfer.

Secretary’s Report:  Amended to the minutes of 3-18-09, Cannonsburg OEC final has changed to May 21, 2009.  Report accepted.

Financial Report:  July 30 is the final date for financial info to Larry Klose.  Report format can be downloaded from the web site. There is an audit being conducted this year by the Division Board.  The full financial report for today’s meeting is on the web site.  Ken Young moved that financial reports be copied and provided to attendees of each meeting.  The motion passed.  Budget reports are due.

Calendar:  The calendar for the coming 2009-10 season was set and recorded.  Dates were read back and confirmed.

Toboggan Refresher:  All patrollers must take a hill refresher if they handle toboggans.  Should be completed during the year.  TES counts in place of TREF.

On this hill candidate training needs to have Patroller 101 as an open class.  Patrollers must be registered.  Waiver must be signed.

Chip Knappen has resigned as Alpine NSP-C Ski School Advisor.  He will be working with Division on PSIA and doing QA for Senior Hill.

Patrick Mulvihill reported that 7 people went to the National PEC conference at Snowbird Utah.  The team that was formed for the Patroller Challenge went on dawn patrol with the avalanche patrol.  3 people attended the toboggan clinic.  Everyone was certified or pro except their team which finished 4 out of 8 teams in the Patroller Challenge.
