2/27/2018 – Banquet and awards nominations

Just a quick FYI as there have been questions. The Region Awards’s banquet this year is in Section 1 and Timber Ridge was the site established when our Region calendar was finalized last fall. The banquet (and a Region meeting) will be held on May 5. The calendar can be found on the Region website at the following link: http://www.nspc203.com/calendarevents/

Section 1 will advise us of the details once those get finalized.

Also, as of last contact, Rog Brands had received very few awards nominations for this year, the deadline is in a couple of days and we may be past the point when we can get awards in for this year. Hopefully, we will have a few awards for our banquet event. Contact Rog directly with questions. I will likely send another note out about awards shortly as we still need a replacement for Rog for next year.

1/5/2018 – Region Meeting – 6pm

Tuesday January 9, 2018 – ALTERNATE LOCATION = (Brann’s on Leonard, just off 131 in Grand Rapids). For those unfamiliar with that location, the address is: Brann’s Steakhouse, 401 Leonard St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. It should be easy to get to off of US 131 coming from either north or south.

I will work on getting an agenda together, so if any one has some urgent new or old business that needs attention let me know ASAP. Please send along any updates that I can consolidate and share in advance with other attendees – while it was not perfect, having some advance info seemed to help keep our meeting on track last fall.

Also, Matt Chapman is trying to get an updated newsletter out this weekend, so if anyone has an article to run (we already have one from Jackie on the upcoming Women’s Clinic), please send before Sunday.

9/28/17 – Region Meeting

We are changing the Region Board meeting to Tuesday, October 17. Same time (6:30PM) and place (Brann’s on Division). This will allow some of the Region Board and staff who normally help with the OEC program to attend the Section 2 OEC Midterm practical on October 10. I will have an agenda and other material out soon. (Sue, can you change the reservation at Brann’s as discussed previously?)

2017-9-22 – Region Meeting Date Change

I will be sending out more information on the October Region Board meeting shortly, including a preliminary agenda and related info. Our original calendar called for the meeting to be Tuesday, October 10. There is a Section 2 OEC Midterm that evening, and I would like to see if we can reschedule to the following week (Tuesday, October 17) in order to be sure we do not pull any help from that event. (Several staff/board members are typically help at the midterm). If this is going to be a hardship, let me know. This will be an important meeting as we will review the budgets for upcoming year and will also introduce some new faces. Since the distribution is quite large, I will ask for a reply if you have an issue with this change. Please let me know ASAP so we can make the arrangements with Brann’s either way.
